I got friends who “invested” in One Lightning Corporation or OLC. Over a year ago I pm’ed one of them, the one I am most concern of since she is a single mom and the sole breadwinner for her and her son. I told her that this networking MLM company One Lightning has the characters of a scam in the making, and that she should be wary. As expected she refused to hear what I have to say, defending the company, and citing that a lot are cashing in their checks, referral rewards, maturity rewards, etc.
Last year June I tried to warn her again, and even relating the experiences of my relatives who were victims of the Aman Scam of 2012, and how similar the promises are of this quick rick scheme. Imagine One Lightning promising as much as 80% return on investment.
Impossibly High Return = Magduda ka na
Again, my warnings fell on deaf ears though there is now a little doubt after SEC issued a Cease and Desist order against OLC.
Past forward this April 10,2016. The president as well as 6 other incorporators of One Lightning Corporation are being hunted by the NBI. Hold departure orders have also been issued against them.
Complaints and cases filed against these One Lightning Corporation officials are increasing. A group estimated to be around 100 investors alleged that they were duped with as much 500 Million Pesos by officials of this networking company. Where are the investors’ money? No one knows.
Where are the officials of One Lightning Corporation? No one knows.
The news report of Philstar gives the names of the OLC officials who are subject to the manhunt order and who have standing hold departure orders. The report reads:
“The manhunt comes after the Pasig Regional Trial Court Branch 155 issued hold departure orders against One Lightning president Terrence Kenji Ito and chairman Theodore Yuji Ito and incorporators Aldus Renier Tubiera, Joanary Roxas, Jake Ryu Oprecio, Edmer Maligaya, Kent Ortiz and Marcos Jordan de Mesa on Feb. 29.” Read here for the full story on Philstar
What’s worst is that the result of the investigation of NBI on this company points out that the same officials put up new companies with the same set-up, which violates SEC rules. These companies are said to include Forward Direct Selling Corp, Aero International, and Oasis Wellness and Beauty Corporation. The latter two operates without SEC registration.
I tried to visit again the One Lightning Facebook Page, and the last post there is a warning intended for other investors, it spoke of hard-earned money with little hope of return anytime soon or if ever. :/
If you have invested in One Lightning Corp, find other investors, and make your complains official by filing cases in the court.
As for my friend, nothing can be done now except hope that these officials be apprehended at once, and be dealt with fully accordingly to our laws.
*Be wary of Iwon Incorporated or Infinite Wellness Opportunity Network. Investigate and study before you part with your hard-earned money. If the business model gives a lot of importance to “referral incentives”, having downlines, recruiting, and promises too good to be true returns, that should signal you to stay away. Unless you are greedy and prefers quick rich schemes that eventually will send you tumbling down and be left with nothing, then go ahead.
But for those who wants to protect oneself, one’s family, and one’s money. Study, study, study, investigate. Arm yourself with knowledge, be financial literate. Avoid scams in the making companies, avoid companies promising impossibly high ROIs. Don’t just enter a “business model” because so and so has already earned a lot. Or This or That has a new car, etc. Again, study and investigate. Protect yourself.
