BLOCKED BDO ATM Debit / Cash Card – Guide To Restore Access

What if your Banco de Oro ATM Debit or Cash Card is block? What should you do to unblock your BDO card?

Here’s the scenario, you went to an ATM machine, insert your card, keyed-in the correct pin, all of a sudden the screen screams that your BDO card is block! What happened???

You did not enter a wrong pin, and you did nothing wrong. Why then was your BDO card blocked?

The reason could be is that you previously used your ATM Debit or Cash Card in an ATM or POS terminal which the bank’s Fraud Analyst identified as having been compromised. To protect your interest BDO will automatically block your card.

This usually happens if you tried to withdraw or transact using an ATM machine in an area that the bank has identified as vulnerable to hacking, or area with compromised security, say there’s been a report of card skimming device insertion that hasn’t been address yet, etc.

So what should you do in case your BDO ATM card is blocked? Or you have a blocked bdo cash card?

A BDO blocked card can’t simply be just ‘unblock’. It needs to be replaced with a new card bearing a new card number.

If BDO block your card because an ATM machine or POS terminal was compromised and you used your card there, rest assured that a staff of BDO will contact you via a telephone call or email to inform you about what happened and offer solution.

Your card will be replaced by BDO bearing a new card number FREE of CHARGE. No card replacement fee since it is BDO itself that block your card due to system security issue.

How Long Before You Get a BDO Replacement Card?

If you are okay with a non-personalized card (card that does not show your name), then you can just visit your BDO branch, and on the same day you will get your generic card replacement. You can then access your account right away. Test it by going to the atm machine of your branch of account.

If you want a personalized card because you want your name to appear on the card, let your wishes be known to the bank CSR. Your replacement card that is personalized will be ready after 3 to 5 banking days for Manila based, and 5 to 7 banking days for Provincial based.

Is it possible to withdraw OVER THE COUNTER while your card is block?

Yes, you can do over the counter withdrawal with no charge at any BDO branch, provided you brought your ATM card with you and an acceptable photo ID.

To be sure and to check what really happened why your Banco de Oro card was blocked, call the bank’s hotline number. The telephone number for Manila landline is (+63)2 702 7877. You can also call them via these these toll-free numbers:

Domestic: 1-800-10-6318000

International: (IAC)+800-8-6318000

*Be prepared to answer the security verification questions of the hotline CSR to establish your identity as the rightful account holder.

It is a hassle to have your card blocked even though you did nothing wrong, but BDO card blocking is done to protect your account and your money.

  1. Hi. What if I am not the account holder? Can i do the same? Im the one in possession of the card since my fiance is a seaman. His card is blocked. I cant access it. Will they issue me replacement?will they answer my queries when i call them?

    • Hi Sandra, nope, only the account holder can request for ATM card replacement and inquire about account status as well as balances.

    • The account balance will remain the same.

      If you were the cause for the blocking, i.e. you entered wrong pins which led to blocking, you will pay the BDO card replacement fee of P150. If there was no error on your part, but still your card was blocked, BDO will issue you a new card without any pay.

  4. Hi po.. need help po urgent 3 days na ko hnd makapag withdraw since natapat ng weekend.
    pwede po bang mag cash withdrawal over the counter (any BDO branch or mismong branch ng account ko) I forgot my pin ng Payroll Debit Card ko. 10K lang withdraw ko may minimum ba pag over the counter? need ko na ng money kasi.. pag replacement ng card daw it takes 5-7 banking days. Thanks a lot

    • Sa pagkakaalam po namin puede mag withdraw sa ibang branch pero may fee. Mas maigi if you withdraw sa branch mo mismo. Don’t forget to bring your ATM card and valid IDs. No minimum withdrawal amount but we recommend to do the over the counter withdrawal sa branch of account mo.

  5. ask ko lang po nd na ako mkpg widraw s atm ko lagi nklgay temporarily not avail and sometimes selected account does not exist nklagay ano po kaya nangyri s atm ko.

    • Hi jayson, kailangan mo ng ireport yan sa BDO. Visit ka sa branch of account mo or call ka sa hotline using PLDT landline tapos gamitin mo yung bdo domestic toll free numbers nila para walang long distance charge.

  6. hi. my atm debit card (w/ name on it) was captured in other bdo machine (not my bank) and the bank said it was blocked because it was compromised (note: bdo did not informed me). as you said, free of charge for the renewal, but who will handle the affidavit of loss fee? tia.

    • Hi Jack, why do you need an affidavit of loss? Hindi ba ibinalik ng BDO branch in-charge of the atm machine na nakacapture ng card mo, yung atm card mo? If hindi nila ibabalik, you should insist to file for the free replacement via their branch kasi nasa kanila yung ATM card mo (your card is not lost but with them).

      • sisirain na daw yung card ko. they insisted na magfile ako ng affidavit in my expense, but i refused. in the end, they asked me to fill up the affidavit form and said they will shoulder the fee. thanks for the reply.

          And tama ginawa mo, sila talaga dapat mag shoulder coz di mo naman naiwala yung atm card mo. Salamat again!

      • Hi I am the wife of the card holder and I am the one using the card since my husband is a seaman (onboard) unfortunately I key-in the wrong pin 3x and its blocked now. How to unblock the card and Am I authorised to unblocked it since I am the wife and my husband wont be able to do it now?pls reply.

        • Hi Joy, based on our understanding of the BDO rules, hindi puede ibang tao ang mag-process ng blocked card. You can still try to go to the BDO branch of account to ask direct from their personnel if may solution sila para sa case mo.

          *Dati if nablock ang card tapos alam mo ang correct pin, after 24 hours puede mo ulit ma-access using the correct pin, kasi narefresh na system nila. We are not sure if this is still effective today though. Pero if nakalimutan na talaga ang PIN, need na ng unblocking process na gagawin sa branch mismo ng account holder.

    • Pag pinablock mo na, block na talaga kaya din kinain ng ATM kasi reported ang card. Check with the bank branch in-charge of the ATM machine you used, baka nasa kanila pa ang card. Otherwise, baka pinadala na sa branch of account mo. Tawag ka nalang sa BDO branch mo for next steps.

    • Hi Whina, call the toll free hotline number of BDO asap. Or request your mother to go sa bdo branch mo and then while there, call her so you can talk to the customer service rep at ipablock yung card mo.

      Ikaw lang ang puede mag-file for atm card replacement, your signature is needed. But at least mapablock mo sya by calling.

  9. Pag na block ba pde pa din ba ma hulugan ng money un? Kase gamit ko kabayan savings dun hinuhulog ung allote ko e na card capture siya.need ba talaga n ako mgreport? Pero sabi ng girlfriend ko na report n nmn daw niya

    • Hi Sheila, ikaw lang ang puede magpa-reactivate ng ATM card mo. Puede mo naman hulogan kasi yung account open naman (yung ATM card lang may issue), pero hindi mawiwithdrawhan dahil blocked ang ATM mo. If may online access ka sa BDO, you can monitor all your deposits/withdrawal.

    • Hi Arceli, only the bank can unblock your card. Try to check if the card was unblocked automatically by the system after one day, if block pa din, you need to contact your bank.

  11. hi tanong ko lang po posibleng mablock ang atm pag matagal ng hindi ginagamit almost 2 years na then mawawala din ba ung pera na naghulog dun?

    • Hi Monica, in general hindi naman mabloblock ang ATM na di nagagamit at hindi mawawala ang pera basta abot sa minimum required*

      Pag ang natirang amount less than sa required minimum balance, every month mag dededuct until maubos yung balance ng account, tapos maclose na sya.

      However, take note that there is what is called “dormancy” or “dormant account”, usually 2 years yan, iba-iba ang banko. Pag no movement, no deposit, no withdrawal for 2 years, magiging dormant yung account, mag deduct ng dormancy penalty fee hanggang maubos yung balance. Wag mong paabutin na ma dormant yung account.

      *addition – This 2018 lahat ng ATM cards sa Pilipinas pinapalitan to the EMV enabled-chip atm cards, so malamang di na magagamit ang ATM card na luma, need na pumunta ng bangko at papalitan sa EMV card version.

    • Hi Alicia, hindi naman mawawala savings mo as long as pasok sa maintaining balance. If below maintaining balance, may service charge every month yun.
      Pa reset ka ng pin sa bank kung saan ka nag-open.

After ko po nagcomment sa Facebook page ng BDO, may nagmessage po sa akin through messenger kung need ko and help kasi na blocked po and ATM card ko, sabi nya provide daw yong picture copy front ang back ng card ko, at need ng valid I’d, at account number, binigay ko po lahat kasi iunblocked saw yong card, after 24 hours okay na naopem ko na account ko.. ask ko lang po ganon po ba talaga provide yong lahat na details ng card? nag aalala po ako baka mawala tuloy pera ko bka scam, please reply po.

    • Hi Rina, naku, sa alam namin hinding hindi manghihingi ng front + back details ng card ang BDO. Are you sure na BDO OFFICIAL PAGE yun? Please call BDO hotline para maka sigurado, yung number ng BDO nasa likod ng ATM card mo.

  19. Hello po, Sinubukan kong mag withdraw gamit ang BDO cashcard ko, pero pagpasok ko ng card ko sa ATM machine, bigla po [“Thank You”please get your card]. Bakit po ganun? pede po ba ko mag OVERTHECOUNTER sa main branch para makapag withdraw?

    • Hi Amelia, try to contact BDO to verify if your PIN was successfully changed. If na changed talaga, go to an ATM machine and inquire balance make sure you use the correct PIN.

    Nagkaproblema po ako sa Cash Card ko, nawala ko po kasi ito bago po ako makapag withdraw, nalaman ko din po na ang last transaction nito ay Deposit so i expected na ipinasok ng company namin ang sahod ko, pinablock ko na din kaagad ito sa BDO and nagrequest na din ako ng replacement sa HR namin,

    question ko lang po kung yung balance na yun malilipat sa bago kong Replace Cash card kapag nakuha ko na ito?

    • Hi Josephine, maililipat ng bangko ang buong balance sa new cash card mo if and only if walang gumamit/nagwithdraw nung old card mo bago mo naipablock sa BDO.

  24. Hello po. Til now kaya magrerefresh padin ang system ng bDO after 24 hours? Malayo na kasi ako sa BDO Branch ng account ko ang hirap pag punta pa ako province for replacement. Blocked ang atm ko now pero naalala ko na ang PIN.

    • Hi Cess, yes puede pa ding magsend sa account kahit blocked ang card. Ang withdrawal nga lang ay over the counter sa bank branch (bring your atm card) or via atm pag unblocked na yung card.

    • Hi Jamellah, sa pagkaka-alam po namin, hindi po lalo na ibang tao ang mag request ng unblocking. But to be sure, please contact your bank branch.

    • Hi Marlyne, if you have a copy of the first time you deposit to the cash card during account opening, you can check that. Or you go back to the BDO branch where you open the account and inquire there.

    • Hi Jayson, sa case ta, need tumawag sa hotline ng banko or bumisita sa branch. Or another option is check online for your balance if you previously enrolled your bank account in online banking.

      Paano po makuha yong pera ko kung blocked po yung cash card ATM ko. Nandon pa kasi yung sahod ko hinpa pa nakuha pero invalid transaction/atm blocek po nakalabas sa screen

      • Punta po kayo sa branch kung saan kayo nag open ng account. Mag over the counter withdrawal kayo, dalhin ang atm, sabihin sa teller na blocked card yung atm mo.

    Ung kapatid ko po blocked atm nya since August 2020 pa po hanggang ngaun november na, wala parin at hindi padin naaayos ng HR nila kasi nagtatrabaho sya sa isang food company under sya ng agency,nireport na nya sa HR nila kaso naka work from home daw sila kaya di naaasikaso, nablocked atm kasi d narenew 5/21/2020 expiration sa card.
    Ano po kaya pede nyang gawin, at may assurance po ba sya na di nawawala ung pera sa atm nya. Salamat po.

    • Hi Jeanette, una pa-ask sa kapatid mo ang HR kung anong branch ng banko ang naghahandle ng payroll niya. Then pumunta sya dun sa banko para mag over the counter withdraw pansamantala. Then puede din sya mag ask dun sa mismong branch if ano puede nya gawin kasi hindi ginagawa ng HR trabaho nila na ayusin yung blocked card due to card expiration.

      *Pag punta sa banko make sure dala nya yung expired atm card and the company ID.

  32. paano q po mawithdraw over the counter laman ng cash card ng sister ko, OFW po kc sister ko, kaya ako po gumagamit cash card everytime n magpadala sya, ang problema po ngayun nagpadala sister ko then ang BDO atm and other bank atm always tell “invalid transaction get your card” nag check ng cash card status sister q at ACTIVATE namn ung account, ask q lng po qng paano ko mawithdraw, by the way cash card issued at Quezon City, i lived here in Baler Aurora, is the BDO Baler branch may help? because they says they have no access to this kind of problem!!!

    • Hi Jayson, to withdraw over the counter need mo ng withdrawal slip na pirmado ng ate mo na ikaw iniauthorized nya. Tapos ID nya at ID mo. Puede lang din to magawa sa kung saan branch inopen. Kaya best to call the branch baka may extra documents pa silang hihingin, bago pumunta.

      Check mo daw expiry ng card, baka expired na kaya di ka maka withdraw.

      To update/get new card dun lang sa branch saan nag open ang alam namin.

      If may BDO online banking ate mo, ipatransfer nalang nya pera sa gcash or paymaya pansamantala while may issue sa cash card nya.

Pa help po kase sa bdo atm ko nag pa withdraw ako nung Saturday pero nagkamali sya ng type then na maximum nya ang daily limit pero walang na withdraw then try ko ng Sunday d same appear sa screan na na reach na ang daily limit then try ko ng Monday ganun parin 🙁 so I decided na Wednesday ng gabi nalang ako mag withdraw pero d same problem lumabas ss screen nung mag lalabas ako ng 10k eh this will succeed you’re daily limit you reach you’re daily limit bakit po ganun lagi lumalabas pero pag binabalance ko naman sya ok naman di naman na debit sa account ko

Pa help po nag pa withdraw po kase ako nung Saturday kaso namali ata ng pindot kaya na reach yung maximum daily limit pero wala pa pong na wiwithdraw then nag try po ako ng Sunday same po na you reach you’re daily limit so I try po ng Monday d same for at first nakalagay sa screen this will succeed to you’re daily limit then try mag withdraw po pero lumabas you’re daily limit succeed po na reach na naman that day ng walang nailalabas na pera pero pag nag babalance ako ok naman po so I decided to withdraw ng Wednesday para maresfresh po kaso d same problem parin po eeh OK naman po balance ko di naman nabawasan at na nakakuha ako ng receipt pag nag babalance kaso di po ako makapag withdraw kase lagi g na appear sa screen na na reach ko na ang daily limit ko pano po kaya yu. Kelan po kaya sya mag reset o kelan ako pwede mag withdraw through my atm card

    • Hi, itawag mo sa hotline ng bank mo para ma ayos nila. Unusual yang na rereach mo daily limit if wala ka pang nawithdraw or natransfer online na amount.
