Join The DTI Kapatid Mentor ME Program

DTI Kapatid Mentor Me Program

If you are a budding entrepreneur, join DTI’s “Kapatid Mentor ME Program” or the KMME Program. This may help propel you and your business to success, faster. Become a mentee!

The Department of Trade and Industry together with the Philippine Center for Entrepreneurship (PCE) established the KAPATID ANGAT LAHAT program. One component of this program is the “Mentor ME Program”, a nationwide coaching and mentoring approach where large corporations teach MSEs on different aspects of business operations.

The successful applicant will get FREE MENTORSHIP from established business owners. It is a great benefit to your business if you will be accepted into this program, so if you qualify, apply to the next round of KMME training!

What is MSMEs? This are the micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises.

Just last June 02, 2017, 31 micro entrepreneurs completed this program in Cebu. According to DTI these graduates “can become qualified borrowers of the government’s P1-billion Pondo Para sa Pagbabago at Pag-asenso (P3) at low collaterals.”

Each year DTI will conduct a series of events and trainings nationwide to help budding entrepreneurs make the most out of their ventures. See the Schedules of Kapatid Mentor Me Program.

How will DTI help MSMEs businesses exactly? These are just some of the ways this mentoring program in coordination with PCE and Go Negosyo Centers may help:

  • Helps MSME business owners find available financing in case a business loan is needed
  • Patent application guides
  • Market development services
  • Product development export assistance
  • Facilitate access to business services
  • and more

Per DTI 7 Assistant Regional Director Nelia Navarro when DTI launched this program in Cebu “ The mentors are experienced entrepreneurs and seasoned business lecturers who have the heart to share their wisdom and formula for success to existing and budding entrepreneurs.

“Beyond the books and seminars, our mentees will be inspired to listen to experiences of these entrepreneurs and will gain valuable learnings from the mentors,” she emphasized.

How to Apply as a Mentee in DTI KMME?

To qualify as a mentee, the entrepreneur should be a business owner or manager of an enterprise with an asset of P3 million and below, operating for at least one year. Visit the nearest DTI branch or a Negosyo Center for assistance and inquiries.

This program will run for 12 weeks. Lessons will focus on the following training modules:

  • Marketing
  • Business Plan Development
  • Financial Management
  • Human Resource Management
  • Operations Management
  • Entrepreneurial Mind-setting and Values formation
  • Accounting and Taxation
  • Supply Value Chain
  • and more

On the 12th week (final week of training under the Kapatid Mentor Me Program), the mentee is required to present his/her business improvement plan, incorporating the learning from the lectures and mentoring sessions. A Trade Exhibit might be set-up as a culminating activity.

Only 20 mentees per KMME training will be accepted. Should this number be expanded in the future, iSensey will update this post.
