Where can you pay Meralco Bill? There are several options, you can visit any Meralco branch, pay over the counter at banks and payment centers, or do it at the convenience of your home via online banking.
If you want to pay Meralco online, you can use your internet banking access from the major banks in the Philippines like Metrobank, BPI, BDO, Unionbank, etc. On this post, iSensey will share how you can pay your electricity bill thru BDO online banking.
The assumption on this guide is that this is your first time to pay Meralco via BDO.
- Login to your BDO personal banking access.
- Click on “Financial Services”, then “Bills Payment”, then “Pay Bills”.
3. The Bills Payment page will load; you now need to enter all the data needed to process your online payment.
PHASE 1
Pay from – choose the account you want to be debited with your bills payment transaction.
CHECK the portion where it says ‘Pay a Company / Biller that is not yet enrolled’.
Pay this Company biller – this is a drop-down menu, scroll down until you find ‘Meralco’.
Amount – Input the amount due (past due Meralco bills can’t be paid thru online banking).
Remarks – You can add special note to remind yourself what the payment is about, example: July Bill
Subscriber Number – Input the Meralco account number on this field, you can find this at the top right portion of the bill. You must input 11 digits Meralco account number.
In the example bill that we’ve used on this iSensey tutorial guide, there are only 10-digits in the subscriber number so when we submitted info, there was an error. To correct this so the system will accept the subscriber number, just add “0” before the subscriber number. Then you are good to go.
PHASE 2
ATM / PHONE REF INFO – You can find this data on the bottom portion of your Meralco bill. Check the picture above. This is the last 5 digits on the ATM/Phone Reference Number column. The first 11-digits are your account number, followed by the 5 digits ATM/Phone Ref numbers.
PHASE 3
This is the point where you can enroll Meralco to your BDO account. This is highly recommended especially if you will be paying Meralco regularly using your bank account. Activate registration enrollment by checking the option ‘Yes, I would like to enroll this Company / Biller in my account.
PHASE 4
On this portion, you can designate a nickname for the bill. This is especially useful if you are paying multiple Meralco bills using one account. In our sample, since this is the only bill from Meralco that will be paid online, we just gave the nickname “Meralco”. Otherwise, you can add nickname like ‘Meralco Manila house’, ‘Meralco Makati apartment’, ‘Meralco Ortigas Condo’, etc.
PHASE 5
Select Channels for Enrollment, you can choose multiple options here but for the purposes of this guide, we will just activate Online Banking for Meralco bills.
Once all fields are filled-up with correct data, hit Submit.
4. The BDO Bills Payment Confirmation Page will load – This is your last chance to verify if all data are correct. Click ‘Continue’ to proceed, otherwise hit ‘Cancel’ if you need to make some changes.
5. Once submitted, the system will process your payment. Your bank account will also be automatically deducted with the amount you paid to Meralco.
This payment successful confirmation page will load, together with the reference number for the transaction you just did.
You will also get a notification that you have successfully enrolled this utility company in your account with BDO.
One Time Enrollment of Meralco in BDO
You only need to do the enrollment process once. So on the next months, when you need to pay Meralco thru online again in BDO, you will just follow step 1 and 2 above. Then when you reach the field ‘Pay This Company Biller’ – when you scroll down, you can right away see the enrolled Meralco bill with the account number clearly displayed. Select this, then pay, as usual.
Refer to this screenshot for your guide of a successfully enrolled Meralco bill:
This the Meralco Hotline number for consumers who have concerns about billing, meter application, disconnection, etc., call them via this number 16211. You can also reach them via SMS Messaging at 0920-9292824 (SMART) and 0917-5592824 (GLOBE). iSensey recommends calling the hotline number so you can talk with a customer service staff.
Save on time, pay your communication and utility bills online!

“Sorry, your transaction cannot be processed due to invalid payment details or exceeded daily limit for this biller/merchant”.
what is the problem here?
iSensey says
If you are certain that the payment details, account number etc are correct and yet the error persists, it could be the set daily transaction limit by BDO for a particular biller, in this case Meralco, is already hit. Try to transact as early as you can, especially on a payday.
