Approved GL for Oral Chemotherapy
A friend of iSensey was approved and was issued a Guarantee Letter in the amount of P40,000 from the Presidential Action Center (PACE) of the Office of the President (OP) to cover her cancer medicines. She is located in Cebu and was able to successfully ask for medical assistance from PACE without going to Malacanang in Manila. She claimed her oral chemotherapy medicines in Globo Asiatico Cebu branch. The quotation from Globo she submitted is P75K, the cost of her monthly medicines.

How to Ask for Medical Assistance in the Office of the President
- First you need to email the Presidential Helpdesk of PACE at phd-pace@op.gov.ph
Introduce yourself, give a background of your case, share some details about your illness, and why you are requesting for medical assistance.
- Then PACE will email you back with the list of requirements for your particular case and instructions on where to send the physical documents once you complete them. PACE will give their address in Malacanang.
If after a week of emailing them and you did not get a reply, call them. Contact number of PACE is 0282498310.
Everyday their department receives thousands of request for medical assistance from all over the country and sometimes there are emails that they forgot to reply to. So please have a little understanding, wait for at least a week before calling them.
- Once requirements are complete, you need to LBC the complete requirements to PACE. LBC will send you a txt once they delivered your documents to the office.
Processing of medical request usually takes 2 to 3 weeks, then the department will send a copy of the PACE Guarantee Letter to your email once you are approve. So make sure that your email is active.
Once you get the email, download the PACE GL and print it. You will need to bring a copy of the GL along with a photocopy of your ID plus a photocopy of the quotation of your supplier. Then go to your supplier to claim the medicine or to process the requested laboratory or procedure, etc.
iSensey Tips:
PACE accepts medicine quotation from drug distributors, hospitals, pharmacies, etc. You only need to submit one quotation. This quotation must also indicate and certify that the supplier will accept GL from the Office of the President.
PACE requires a Social Case Study Report by a Registered Social Worker for all types of cases. You may request for this report in the CSWDO of your city or municipality. Go to your city hall or municipal hall and ask where the office of the Social Worker is. Or call city hall first and ask them what is their requirements so you can get a Social Case Study Report.
PACE also requires you to submit a Letter Request for financial and medical assistance to the President. You can just copy and paste the content of your first email to them, or improve it a bit as needed. You may submit a handwritten letter or a printed letter. Make sure to sign it. May format ang letter, ifollow lang ang nasa requirements na ibibigay ng PACE.
If someone will process on your behalf, make sure to also submit a signed authorization letter and provide a photocopy of your valid government ID and a valid government ID of the authorized person.
If you will process on your own, submit a photocopy of your valid government ID.
Then you will also submit documents that is relevant or specific to your case. That is why it is important to first email PACE so you can get a complete list of requirements that is specific for your case.
Since our informant is a cancer patient, she only got the requirements for cancer patients seeking Chemotherapy Treatment Assistance (On-going chemo or oral chemo). She doesn’t have the list of requirements for hospitalization, labs, burial/funeral, etc.
Additional documents required for cancer medicines – must be ORIGINAL.
- Clinical Abstract or Medical Certificate issued by the onco.
- Doctor’s Prescription or Rx.
- Treatment Protocol or Health Management Plan.
- Price Quotation from service provider (example Globo, cancer center pharmacy, hospital pharmacy, etc).
