How to Add Bank Account in Paypal | Bank Numbers for Philippine Banks

Before you can withdraw funds from your Paypal account, you need first to add your Bank Account to your Paypal account.

Add Bank to Paypal with Bank account number

These are the easy steps on how to do this. Be ready with your Bank Account Number and the BANK NUMBER. The bank number or bank code is the banking institution’s BRSTN.

BRSTN = Bank Routing Symbol Transit Number

The Paypal Bank number is different from the SWIFT CODES of bank. Swift Codes are usually needed for international remittance transactions and telegraphic transfers. For Paypal, what is needed is the “BANK NUMBER” or the BRSTN of the Philippine-based bank you want to add to PP.

  1. Login to your Paypal (PP) account.
  2. On your dashboard check the portion “Banks and Cards”. The words “add your bank account” is clickable. Click it to go to the next section.

3. A new window opens; you can now enter the details to ADD your bank account to Paypal.

Verify that the first name is correct, edit as needed.

The “Last name” field is entered automatically by the system, you cannot change this.

The next line is for “Bank Name”, enter the name of your bank, spell it our like BDO is Banco de Oro, BPI is Bank of the Philippine Islands, PNB is Philippine National Bank, UBP is Unionbank, DBP is Development Bank of the Philippines, etc.

The next line is for “Bank Number” – this is a 9-digits number that identifies your bank. Check later on this post the list of popular banks used with Paypal and their corresponding bank numbers.

The last line is for the “Account Number” – enter your account number here, usually this is 11-digits or 12-digits.

Click on CONTINUE once that is done.

Add bank to Paypal account

Your Bank Account has now been added to your Paypal account. You can now do withdrawal transactions from Paypal to a local Philippine bank. **Certain banks charges a minimal fee for receiving funds from Paypal.

If you want to verify if your newly added bank account is successful, go back to Paypal’s homepage, and then click on “Banks and Cards”. Once this is open you will see all the added bank accounts and credit card accounts:
